Director for Northwest Arkansas market - American
Diabetes Association (ADA) - Posted 7/24/08
This position requires leadership, creative planning and management
skills. Qualified candidates should have a proven track record of
planning and executing not for profit special events that have raised
six figures or more. Successful implementation of gala, cycling and/or
walk related activities a plus. Director is responsible for recruitment
and management of event volunteers and staff. Qualified candidates will
also have extensive experience working with committees and corporate
decision makers. Strong presentation skills, oral and written are a
requirement. Exemplary attention to detail and ability to manage
multiple activities necessary.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree required
* Five consecutive years of similar work experience
* Demonstrated experience of coaching and leading a team to success
* Experience with income and expense procedures and reporting
* Familiarity with financial reports and analysis
* Expert level proficiency with MS Office
* Access to a car as local travel is required
* Ability to lift 25 lbs

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization
in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Southwest Missouri Chapter
located in Springfield, Missouri has an immediate opening for a Special
Events Coordinator.
Qualified candidates will:
º be able to multi-task multiple projects;
º have a strong focus on administrative duties, event logistics and
volunteer recruitment;
º be highly motivated to secure in-kind and direct donations;
º have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management;
º possess strong verbal and written communication skills;
º have a high level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or related
field, and/or 2+ years experience in events or development related
