Purpose:The AFP Fall Conference is an annual education opportunity for non-profit organizations, board members and fundraising professionals. The 2005 Fall Conference is a collaborative effort among several organizations with common commitments to advancing non-profits and the services they provide in our community.

Morning Session
Dee VandeventerKeynote Speaker:
Dee Vandeventer
Topic: "They have to know you before they love you. Getting your message to your stakeholders." Dee's presentation will include high-level discussion of the following areas: clarity of mission, emotional branding, stakeholder identification, the Big You™ statement, working with the media, and much more.

About the Speaker: Dee's passion is fundraising. As president of ME&V, a nationally recognized integrated marketing communications and fundraising company, she has worked with hundreds of nonprofits throughout the country. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Iowa State University and an M.A. in Communications/Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa. (Click here for a complete biography)

Afternoon Session
Speakers: Springfield Ad Club representatives (TBA)
Topics include: Community Relations (defining and understanding your audience, principles of influencing audiences, media and government relations); Communications Tools and Tactics (communications checklist, newsletters, direct mail, advertising, PSAs, special events, multimedia, tools of the internet, customized information delivery); Panel Discussion, "The Fall of Advertising and the Rise of Public Relations" (limitations of traditional advertising, public awareness does not equal public response, question and answer session).

About the Speakers: The mission of the Springfield Ad Club is to provide a forum for interaction, education and professional development of its members in order to enhance the advertising marketplace. The club represents the advertising industry's interest to the public, governmental and regulatory bodies and provides advertising counsel to public service organizations. (Click here to learn more)
