AFP - Ozarks Region Chapter
Member Benefits

AFP membership is offered at the national level and includes local chapter membership. As an AFP member you will have the opportunity to network with and learn from the leading development professionals in the Springfield, Missouri, area. A sampling of benefits include:

  • You receive Advancing Philanthropy, a bi-monthly magazine that features articles about the profession's issues, trends and latest developments.
  • Access to the national AFP website which posts employment positions, offers discounts on books on philanthropy and other benefits and which also offers electronic news to members.
  • AFP has an established network of government relations chairs, key contacts and activities. Web alerts keep members informed about late breaking issues. AFP monitors state legislative and regulatory issues and provides assistance to chapters as needed.
  • Our chapter meets on the last Friday of each month except for October, November and December. We offer a variety of educational programs at our monthly meetings and a fall conference (held in Springfield) in which a nationally recognized fundraising consultant addresses important and current topics on philanthropy.   • Our chapter selects one member each year to be the recipient of the Chamberlain Scholarship. The Chamberlain Scholarship receives $500 toward the spring International AFP conference that includes leadership forums, award ceremonies, workshops, seminars and plenary sessions designed to serve the professional development needs of all participants regardless of experience levels. This scholarship is supplemented by a cash award, fund by our chapter, to assist with related conference expenses.
  • A Springfield, Missouri Non-Profit Resource Directory listing members of AFP, the Council on Philanthropy (COP), the Ozarks Region Planned Giving Council (MAPGC) and others.
